Heather Taylor Johnson is the author of three books of poetry and one novel. Her fourth poetry collection will be published by Five Islands Press and her agent is gearing up to pitch a new novel. She is currently editing The Fractured Self: poetry of chronic illness and
pain and has just returned from Oxford, where she presented a paper on why poetry is the genre best suited for illness narratives. She is also the Poetry Editor for Transnational Literature.
Mike Hopkins has lived in Adelaide since 1988. His working life involves translating the garbled thoughts of highly paid, illiterate
executives into coherent English. He has been writing poetry for 6 years having previously written song lyrics for the South Australian
Trade Union Choir. His first short poetry collection appeared as New Poets 16 (Wakefield Press) in 2011. He was a State Finalist in the
Australian Poetry Slam in 2012, won the World Poetry Day Slam in Adelaide in 2013 and the 60 Second Slam at the Adelaide Fringe in
2014. His poetry has been published in journals and magazines in Australia and Europe and has featured on both local and national
radio. He attended the Seamus Heaney Summer School at Queens University Belfast in 2014. He is an ex Convenor of Friendly Street
Poets and a member of the Poetica poetry group.
