Random Thoughts on Love
Jill Wherry
I’d like to make love to a teacher.
I’m partial to qualified men;
Unless he’s a tad too judgemental,
Awarding me marks out of ten.
I used to make love to a policeman,
One very attached to his gun.
Though I didn’t enjoy this obsession,
His handcuffs were ever such fun.
I refused to make love to a Santa
So sensibly I knocked him back,
Until he seduced me with presents
And I ended up in the sack.
I tried to make love to an athlete,
Who showed me much more than a chat.
‘I’m too young to die,’ I informed him.
‘No way will I ever do that.’
If I fell in love with a farmer,
My morals would all go astray.
I’d go for a ride on his tractor
But hope for a roll in the hay.
I’ll never make love to my Ex,
But tell him in words firm and true,
I’d rather make love to a cactus,
Than be horizontal near you.
I made love to a film producer
And foolishly gave him my heart.
I was plonked on his casting couch
But damn, I did not get a part.
For weeks I made love to a poet.
I needed a soulmate you see.
He was always on his computer
But hardly ever on me.
I’d like to make love to a toy-boy
And think I’d be up to the task.
I’m open to all invitations
But sad to say none of them ask.
