John De Laine was born in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1969. He has written poetry since 1995, and is presently an Arts undergraduate at Adelaide University. He believes that poetry should be treated as an art, and that capturing and exploring a subject, and its related ideas, is what poetry should stand for as it seeks greater respect within the broad arts world.
John’s first poetry collection, Rain Falls on the Garden, was published in New Poets Six (Friendly Street Poets/Wakefield Press 2000) and can be purchased from the Wakefield Press website.
