FSP 2026 AGM summary report

Summary report from convenor, Nigel Ford, of the 2026 FSP Annual General Meeting held at the Box Factory, 10th April, 2026

Three members of the Committee did not continue: Veronica Cookson, David Cookson and Sue O’Brien. I’d like to thank them for their wonderful service to the FSP Committee, especially for all the work they undertook to help make Friendly Street Poets’ 50th Anniversary year and celebrations such a success. Special thanks to Veronica Cookson for taking on the Secretary role for her 2 year tenure.

Three members nominated to return to the Committee: Nigel Ford, Erica Jolly & Fred Willett.

Two members were halfway through their 2-year term and remain on the Committee: Ben Adams and Kristy Willett.

Two new members were elected to the Committee: Ivan Rehorek (Avalanche) and Kathryn von Bergen. Thank you for nominating for the FSP Committee and welcome aboard.

That means FSP has a functioning Committee of 7 members, down from the 8 of the last 2 years through our 50th Anniversary planning and celebration period, but up from the 5 we were operating with 2 years previous.

Office Bearers
Nigel Ford remains the Convenor.
Kristy Willett remains the Treasurer.
Ben Adams has taken on the office of Secretary.

Apart from the usual reports, FSP passed changes to our Constitution regarding Section 7.2, serving terms of Committee members in order to rescind redundant clauses and create a new clause to allow Committee members to remain past the 3 elected 2-year terms, subject to a majority vote by Committee members. This will allow some people essential for the group to function fully to remain longer in important positions, such as Treasurer, etc.

Thank you to all who attended the FSP AGM and participated in the process.

Nigel Ford, Convenor
