FSP is excited to announce the winners of the New Poets 21 competition, as judged by Kaye Aldenhoven, and launch their poetry collections in this new publication from FSP. Kaye will be flying in from Darwin especially for the event.

According to our COVID-Safe plan, up to 27 people can register to attend and celebrate with the New Poets and their personal guests, and to be among the first to purchase a copy of the book. New Poets 21 will also be available to buy online immediately it has been launched.… Click for more

FSP October City Meeting and Open Mic – UPDATE

Because of the October long-weekend, this month’s City Meeting and Open Mic will be held on the 2nd Monday.

We are required to follow a COVID-19 safety plan, which includes social distancing with a corresponding impact on the total number of people who can attend the meeting. This means that a maximum of 35 people can attend.

FSP Anthology 44 Kaleidoscope edited by Valerie Volk and Nigel Ford is now published. Copies can be obtained for $20 at FSP live events until sold out.

Anthology 2020 update (3)

We welcome Sarah Radford as co-editor of the 2020 Anthology alongside Glen R Johns.

Please note the the size limit for on-line submissions to the Anthology is 600 words per total submission. Remember, you must use the on-line submission form to submit your poem for consideration in the Anthology. Any other form of attempted submission will be ignored. And you must be a member of FSP to have your submission considered.

FSP Anthology 45 on-line poetry submissions – updated

The annual anthology publishes a selection of poems by FSP members. Normally, all original poems read by members of Friendly Street Poets at an official FSP meeting, whether in the city or at a regional centre, are eligible to be selected for publication in the anthology. However, with face to face meetings cancelled for the foreseeable future, obviously this year will be slightly different. Poems submitted at the in-person meetings already held remain eligible, but for (most likely) some months at least, we will be accepting digital submissions.
