Long time FSP member, David Harris, is launching his new book of poetry In the Subjunctive Mood, published by Ginninderra Press

“In this volume you will find poems to make you laugh or make you cry, poems which will match your mood, or change it, and poems to simply relax with.”

Ken Bolton

has been variously described as a loony tune, something of a zany, a yo-yo with money. In truth he is a curious figure – irascible, intemperate, vituperative, yet somehow, apparently, devoted to an idea of ‘the Beautiful’, as somehow defined. Lord David Cecil held him to be “the Hulk Hogan des nos jours” – and found in him “a Pol Pot, perhaps the very Pol Pot, of the aesthetic.” Ken has published many books, the most recent being Lonnie’s Lament (Wakefield Press, earlier this year).… Click for more

Sonnet for A Coin Eyed Fish
 At the mouth of the Onkaparinga River.

In the mornings the new autumn cold
chews the crusts of fading summer,
The wind whines high through the empty hold
of the poo-bag roll in F # minor.
Midday birdsong is free light freight,
The dogs stalk and strain on the halter,
The sun sandwiched tight, early and late
